<image:caption>Private Spoken Arts lessons are personalized to suit each student’s unique goals and interests. Whether you're aiming for a specific performance or looking to build speaking confidence, one-on-one instruction supports both your immediate needs and long-term development. Students are guided through age and skill appropriate selections, including verse speaking, prose recitation, scene work, Shakespeare, storytelling, extemporaneous speaking, and improvisation offering a well rounded understanding of the Spoken Arts. Training includes: posture, movement, vocal and physical expression, public speaking, cold reading, TelePrompter use, interview and audition techniques, microphone handling, and—upon request—dialect coaching or accent reduction. Although declarative knowledge is important, Speech Arts is a procedural skill. Students develop skill through doing. My students have the opportunity to hone their skills at the following annual events: ARMTA Recitals & Events - throughout the year Private Studio Recitals - throughout the year Presentation MRU Non-Competitive Festival - March The Calgary Performing Arts Festival (formerly Kiwanis) - April Royal Conservatory Practical Examinations - June</image:caption>

<image:caption>Frances has been studying and teaching voice since the 1990s. She currently serves as a voice instructor at the Company of Rogues Actors’ Studio, an accredited post-secondary institution. There, she designs and teaches courses for the two-year Master Class program, working with students training to become professional actors. In Frances’ Voice class, the actor finds an organic connection to breath and voice. Her students are introduced to their authentic voice, supported by free and easy breath flow. Rogues students find that, when they open their body to breath and sound, the truth of the moment can come into their acting. This voice training brings more range and emotional depth to their performances for both stage and film. Frances has had the privilege of training with VASTA distinguished member David Smukler, and internationally-renowned movement specialist Judith Koltai. She has significant training in Linklater Voice Method, Rodenburg Voice and Speech, Vibrant Voice Technique, Alexander Technique, Authentic Movement, and Koltai Embodied Practice. Frances is also a certified Yoga Alliance teacher. She incorporates all of these teachings into her Voice classes. — Frances Ewington Practising yogini since 1993, 15 years of Iyengar yoga training, RYS 200 hour Yoga Alliance Teacher Training.</image:caption>
